La Taverna di Le Cirque Bistrot Restaurant in Florence, the romantic and circus atmosphere that was missing in the Florentine landscape.
The first “restaurants” started to appear during the second half of Middle Age, under the name of “Inns”. Then the Inn was not only a place designed to taste the food prepared by the chef, but also where people used to meet and mostly to seek shelter. In fact, during rainy and cold days, the Inn provided refuge to travelers, who were eventually allowed to bring and eat their own food by paying a small amount of money called “cover charge”.
Hoping that you will soon come to visit them (without carrying your own food!) they want to let you know that they won’t charge you for the “cover”, but beyond that, we are proud of the origins of our “Inn” and we feel more like a “place” than a restaurant. A romantic place to experience a magical moment, to meet people…a place where time stands still…Middle Age, 2000s. The “Taverna di Le Cirque” is out of time, outside the rules and off the grid; it is a different and unique place that did not exist and now it’s here…
In a basement on the Florentine outskirts architecturally inspired to Londoners cellars and restaurants and to Marseillaise illegal taverns, shrouded in a surreal atmosphere between the “movie” and the “fairy tale”, you will find the circensian / romantic “Taverna di Le Cirque”, where time stops in front of a candle’s flame.
