Two families with a long and successful experience in catering had the idea of founding this venue in historic Palazzo Gherardi, (which formerly housed the Salamanca) in the heart of Santa Croce. Andrea and Mario Pasquarelli’s family have opened many well-known activities in Florence and Prato, like Pit Stop, Fancy King and Centocanti in Via Gioberti, and have now joined forces with three brothers from Sardinia who were raised in the family restaurant in one of the island's busiest tourist resorts. This new restaurant was conceived as a Restaurant and Lounge Bar, without any Pizzas however, and continues to offer the same quality and enthusiasm that has distinguished all the other businesses they have run up until now.
Inferno takes in Il Girone dei Golosi, which mainly proposes a fish cuisine, but also includes the typical cult dishes in the Tuscan and Mediterranean traditions. The Flambè, the cuisine that most characterises this venue, offers dishes cooked on a live flame in front of the customer, with revisited recipes and spectacular effects. Inferno is also the old city centre’s Paradiso del Pesce where we recommend its beautifully presented raw fish platter that is of excellent quality. Inferno intends offering a gourmet trip with its Girone del Buongusto venue. A selection of high quality raw materials are carefully matched with products based on the Supply Chain of the Earth and Fresh from the Sea. The cuisine includes regional dishes revisited with ingredients from new gastronomic trends. The menu offers a Tortello stuffed with mixed fish in lime cream, some delicious spaghetti with a Cacciucco cream and a prawn tartare that should not be missed; the fish counter, where you can choose your fish and have it cooked to your taste, is fascinating. The delicious desserts range from Crepes suzette, a banana flambé or a beery tiramisu presented with the Symbolic Sites in Florence.
A tasting itinerary that involves the customer both in the restaurant area and in the lounge bar, where contemporary cocktails combining liqueurs and spirits are matched with food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 34 Cocktail follows Dante’s Inferno theme using the names of some of the characters and specific presentation glasses, which were selected as being one of the novelties of the Florence Cocktail Week 2018.
The restaurant is open daily for lunch from 12pm to 3pm and functions on a quick break format, suitable for a business lunch, rather than a complete meal for Ceremonies and Banquets, in a relaxing, comfortable and modern environment.
Aperitifs are served on the "Infernal Wheel" with 5 tasting samples plus 2 first courses cooked by the Chef and served comfortably at the table from 7pm to 9pm.
There is live music every Thursday evening and on Fridays and Saturdays, alternating with the Dj set. Programme available on the "Ristorante Lounge bar Inferno” Facebook page.
